Dr Kortian is the Managing Director of the Performance Improvement Institute. He has been advising and working with Australian and Multinational organisations on Business Excellence and Organisational Transformation for over 16 years.
His many years of international experience in operations, management, and strategy, marketing and business development allows him to address problems with a big picture focus. He believes that in a successful organization, people do the right things the right way. He has an extensive track record of delivering results in difficult situations.
He understands what is expected of him and always brings passion and enthusiasm in everything he does. An experienced consultant who can think on his feet, Vik has a balance of intuitive and analytical skills, articulate and energetic working style which complements the big picture vision positioning companies and organizations for future prosperity and continued growth.
Dr Kortian has held a number of senior positions including, Director of Performance Improvement at PriceWaterhouseCoopers leading the Lean Six Sigma practice as well as the Director Lean Six Sigma Deployment for the Asia Pacific Region for Unisys. Prior to his foray into the consulting world Dr Kortian spent 20 years working for Dow Corning holding a number of senior operational and managerial positions including a 3 year stint at the corporations Global headquarters in Midland Michigan.

Dr Kortian holds an honours degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of NSW, a Master’s in Business Administration, a Master of Arts (Research), and a PhD in Business from Macquarie Graduate School of Management. He also holds a patent for manufacture of Silicone emulsions.
Dr Kortian is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Australian Graduate School of Management teaching the Lean Six Sigma Executive Education programs as well as Operations Management and Quantitative Methods for the full time MBA’s at Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
